ROIS-UGANDA in partnership with Shoprite limited conducted the ever first charity activity that they called “D/deaf charity car wash “on 30th Jan 2016 at SHOPRITE-GAME grounds at Lugogo that ran from 8:00am to 6:00pm. This activity was aimed at two major factors;
In this activity, the deaf persons together with sign language interpreters and the entire management of ROIS-UGANDA were washing people's cars for 15,000 UGX per vehicle and the money collected is to be used to run the activities of ROIS for the benefit of the deaf community.
People turned up and brought their cars for washing and genuinely supported this charitable activity.
Media was present (Bukedde TV) to broadcast the activity and also interview the management of ROIS-UGANDA. ROIS showcased that the D/deaf people can ably work.

Fundraising Event 30th January 2016
For many years, ROIS Uganda has devoted its energy to passionately advocating for the D/deaf person in Uganda. We provide free sign language interpretation services for the D/deaf community in Uganda. These people are under-represented members of our global family. Find out how you can contribute to the future of someone in need through donations of money and time.
To bridge the communication gap between the D/deaf and hearing communities, ensure their access to public services in and to involve them in the competitive employment circles of Uganda.
