Creating an Inclusive society for the D/deaf!
On 23rd April 2016 our directors Dorothy and Yusufu were called upon by the bride and groom Mr F Aouku and Ms Nakyanzi to interpret at their Introduction. An introduction otherwise known as Kwanjula is a traditional pre-wedding ceremony, used as a platform for the bride to introduce her future husband to the family. The bride and groom of this ceremony are D/deaf and so sought the assistance of our interpreters.
2nd June 2016 DGF, USAID, IRI and Uganda Youth Network held a graduation ceremony for 80 students whom they sponsored for 6 months to learn Democratic Governance, Civic Education & Good Leadership as well as Political Transition. ROIS provided interpretation services to D/deaf graduands.
